  • Watt is a unit used to measure power, that is, how much energy a device consumes per second. For old light bulbs, watts were used to indicate brightness, but with the increasing use of LED bulbs, it has become more common to use lumens instead, as LED bulbs can produce the same brightness as old light bulbs with significantly lower watts.
