Octa is the result of a design concept where the lamp is shaped from a single sheet of metal, carefully bent and welded to create a stable and harmonious form.
Joakim Thedin describes the process:
“Recently, I have worked extensively on designing lamps from a single piece of the material best suited to the lamp’s form and function. In this case, a sheet of metal that is bent and welded together.
Partly to reduce production costs, and partly to protect the environment - as I also strive to minimize waste during the manufacturing process. With this lamp there was no waste at all.”
This makes Octa more than just a design lamp - it is a well-considered example of how modern product development can unite aesthetics and sustainability.
