Styrka – Tips & Instructions
Styrka is a lamp series from Markslöjd, designed by Anja & Filippa. The Styrka pendant lamp features a flower-shaped shade made of banana fiber, with a texture reminiscent of linen. The glass shade is available in amber, opal or smoke-coloured glass. The pendant lamp comes in black, white or beige and is available in two sizes.

1. Assembly is easier if you start by hanging the lamp on a hook.
If you have a low or standard ceiling height, you can already adjust the cable to achieve the desired hanging height. To adjust the cable, there are two black screws (flat-head screwdriver) located on the inside and outside of the ceiling cup. Loosen the screws to adjust the cable.
Do you want the lamp to sit higher, closer to the ceiling?
Push more of the cable into the ceiling cup.
Do you want the lamp to hang lower?
Pull the cable out from the ceiling cup.
Then adjust the final screw inside the ceiling cup so that the cup sits as close to the ceiling as possible and hides the cable.
Attach the ceiling connector (not included) to the lamp before hanging it and connecting it to the power supply. You can find ceiling connectors here.

2. The lamp comes with a plate with seven arms where each flower petal is attached. Start by sliding the plate into place and secure it by tightening the tube.
3. Screw the light source gently into the socket, turning it counterclockwise so it sits straight.
Do you have an external dimmer?
Make sure the light source is dimmable.
Do you not have an external dimmer but want a dimmable light source?
Choose a light source with a three-step dimming function. You will find several options at markslojd.com. Please note that these are not compatible with external dimmers.

4. Place the glass shade with the light source inside and screw it into place. Make sure it is securely attached before letting go of the lamp.
5. This step is optional, but we recommend it especially for the larger size of Styrka. For a cleaner and more refined look, gently iron the flower petals using low heat. Place a cloth, kitchen towel or similar between the petals and the iron to protect the material.

6. Carefully fold the petals with the edges facing upwards. Do not apply too much pressure. Each petal has four holes – fold the petal so that the holes on each side align, allowing a screw to pass through both sides. Secure the petal with the nut on the top. Repeat until all seven petals are in place.
